I am a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon in the fields of Lower Limb Reconstruction, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Joint Replacements (Ankle Replacements, Hip Replacements, Knee Replacements), Sports Surgery (Ankle and Knee), and Trauma (Adult and Paediatric, Upper and Lower Limb) Surgery.
Dr Mustafa Alttahir has trained in leading Specialist Orthopaedic Centres throughout Australia and overseas.
He is dedicated to improving and maintaining your quality of life by providing you with personalised, high-quality orthopaedic care for arthritis of hip, knee, ankle/foot joints, acute and chronic conditions of the foot and ankle, sports injuries of the knee and foot/ankle, severe limb deformities and leg length discrepancy, and high-energy orthopaedic trauma and fractures.
He has a special interest in joint replacement surgery, in particular Primary and Revision Total Ankle Replacements, Total Hip Replacements (Anterior Approach), Total Knee Replacements (Computer-Navigated and Robotic), Complex Lower Limb Deformities Correction (Ilizarov Framing), Limb Lengthening (Magnetic Nail Assisted), Minimally Invasive Foot/Ankle/Bunion Surgery, and Osseointegration Surgery.
He is proficient in the CAD design of Custom 3D Printed Implants and Custom Patient Specific Guides for complex upper and lower limb reconstruction surgery.
Dr Mustafa Alttahir is an Australian-trained Orthopedic Surgeon, with extensive experience managing Foot and Ankle Conditions, Lower Limb Reconstruction and Joint Replacements, and Orthopaedic Trauma (Adult and Paediatric).
He completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2008 at the University of New South Wales. He went on to completing his Orthopaedic Surgical training in various hospitals across Sydney and NSW/ACT.
He advanced his training by pursuing multiple Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Fellowships in Limb Reconstruction, Joint Replacements of the Hip/Knee/Ankle, Foot and Ankle Surgery, Osseointegration Surgery, and Deformity Correction.
He also completed an International Bone Research Association (IBRA) Fellowship in Basel, Switzerland and Tenerife, Spain. He has participated in high-quality publications, particularly in the field of Total Ankle Replacement Surgery.
